Forest Ranger Jimmy Applebee is a heartfelt and humorous environmental adventure for children and families, blending storytelling, wildlife education, and Indigenous wisdom. Set around the beautiful and fragile Lost Lagoon, the story follows the seasoned and beloved Forest Ranger Jimmy Applebee as he teams up with his old friend Ranger Elsie Whitehawk and Ernie the Beekeeper to protect the forest from wildfire — with the unexpected help of some very talkative animal friends.
It all begins one peaceful morning when Jimmy, sipping tea at his cabin, notices the local wildlife — frogs, geese, a raven, and even a largemouth bass — reacting to the scent of smoke. Chadwick the Raven sounds the alarm, and Jimmy soon confirms there’s a wildfire nearby. He races to the scene, only to discover a frightened mother bear pacing near the flames while her cub is trapped. Just as Jimmy struggles with the firetruck’s pump, Ranger Elsie arrives from the woods, rescues the cub, and the two of them — along with Ernie, who shows up with a shovel and sprayer — work together to extinguish the fire.
